Title: Short Text Conversation using Big Data and Deep Learning
    Speaker: Hang Li(Huawei)
Abstract: Human computer conversation is regarded as one of the most difficult problems in artificial intelligence. In this talk, I will address one of its main sub-problems, referred to as short text conversation (STC), in which given a message from human, the computer returns a reasonable response to the message. It is anticipated that significant progress could be made in research on the problem with the vast amount of STC data available on social media. One simple approach to STC, at least at the first step, is to formalize it as a search problem and employ state-of-the-art search technologies to carry out the task. At Noah’s Ark Lab, we are exactly taking the approach to build an STC system using big data and machine learning. In the talk, I will specifically explain methods for STC using deep neural network models, which we have developed recently.
